Curaçao, September 30, 2015, locally produced short film “Distansia” has been selected to screen and compete in the Aruba International Film Festival. The Aruba International Film Festival takes place on October 7 – 11, 2015 at the Brickel Bay Beach Club & Spa. Distansia will have screening time on Thursday, October 8 at 6:00 PM and on Saturday, October 10 at 5:00 PM.
The Aruba International Film Festival is a world class event filled with international and regional premieres of feauture length and short films. The producers will get a unique opportunity to participate in a film market where they can attend master classes, workshops, networking sessions with industry professionals and get the unique opportunity to export Distansia to broader audiences.
Distansia was the overall winner of the Short Movies Big Stories film competition at the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam. The short won the Jury Award for the Fiction category and the Audience Award. The film is written, produced and directed by both Miguel Gonzalez Perret-Gentil and Elizabeth Francisco under Fill in the Blank Production. This isn’t Distansia’s last international stop. The short will also have screening time at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in January of 2016, where the producers will also be attending the festival with lead actress Kathelyn Amarica to present the film.
